The Monitor, the main component of the PSA 4000 System, processes, analyzes, and displays EEG signals. It also serves as the system user interface.
The Monitor consists of an enclosure housing a system computer, color display panel, front panel and rear panel. The front panel contains the controls and indicators that constitute the user interface. The monitor incorporates a rechargeable battery, providing approximately 20 minutes of back-up power if there is a main power loss.
The Patient Module acquires analog EEG signals from the PSArray² EEG Electrode Set, converts EEG signals to digital data then transfers the data to the Monitor for processing, analysis, and display.
The Patient Module connects to the Monitor via the PSA 4000 Patient Cable. The Monitor provides power to the Patient Module which conditions and isolates power.
The Patient Cable, which connects the PSArray² to the PSA 4000 Patient Module, is a reusable device; do not discard.
The cable transfer analog EEG signals collected from the patient to the PSA 4000 Patient Module for processing the EEG signals can then be displayed on the monitor.
The PSArray², which is applied to the head of a patient, consists of a plastic strip with gelled electrodes. This is a single-use, non-sterile product to ensure appropriate patient protection from cross-contamination. The PSArray² collects EEG Signals from the patient. The PSArray² EEG Electrode Set is latex free.
