Hospira's vascular and cardiac catheter product line spans the spectrum of patient acuity. From central venous catheters to the advanced OptiQ combined CCO and SvO2 catheters, clinicians can select the catheter most appropriate for the care of their patients.

Central venous catheters are available in basic or expanded configurations with either male adapter plugs or luer activated valves.

Pulmonary artery catheters are available in two formulations: standard and Torque-Line® with enhanced maneuverability.

Hospira's advanced sensor catheters are available for continuous monitoring of SvO2 with our exclusive 3-wavelength technology, continuous cardiac output or with both parameters.

All Hospira pulmonary artery catheters are available in a latex-free configuration.

Standard & Advanced Sensor Catheters:

Advanced parameters for cardiovascular monitoring:

SvO2 (mixed venous oxygen saturation):

  • 3-wavelength technology (reflectance spectrophotometry) measures oxyhemoglobin saturations independent of varying hemoglobin levels, eliminating the need for laboratory updates of hemoglobin and hematocrit
  • Light intensity bar provides an indication to the quality of the reflected light and assists in interpreting the fiberoptic signal
  • Available in latex-free configurations

CCO (Continuous Cardiac Output):

  • 15 cm long thermal coil is smooth and flush with catheter body, generating its optimum detectable signal at the lowest possible power level per length of coil
  • Distal Thermal Positioning Port (DTPP) provides a means to confirm proper thermal coil placement
  • Available in latex-free configurations

OptiQ® Catheters — combines SvO2 and CCO.
TDQ™ Catheters — CCO only.
Opticath® Catheters — SvO2 only.

Pentalumen™ and Multiflex Pulmonary Artery Catheters:

  • Two stiffness formulations
  • Continuous monitoring of hemodynamic pressures when used with a pressure monitoring kit
  • Cardiac output via the bolus cardiac output injection technique
  • Access to venous blood for sampling
  • Available in latex-free configurations

Central Venous Catheters:

  • Double and triple lumen configurations in 14 cm, 20 cm or 30 cm lengths
  • Basic or expanded configurations
  • Luer activated valves or prepierced ports
