Hospira was named to’s Top 50 Organizations for Multicultural Business Opportunities list for the second consecutive year. The Div50 is a listing of the top 50 corporate and organizational buyers of diversity products and services throughout the U.S. (January 2013)

DiversityMBA Magazine, an internationally distributed publication targeting women and multicultural professionals in corporate America, government entrepreneurs and business students, named Berlon Hamilton, Supplier Diversity Lead, to its 2012 Top 100 Under 50 Diverse Emerging Leaders. (December 2012)

For the fourth year in a row, Hospira was recognized in the Top 100 U.S. companies of Newsweek's Green Rankings, a data-driven assessment of the largest companies in the United States and in the world, quantifying the actual environmental footprints, policies and reputations of these big businesses. (October 2012)
For the second year, Hospira was named one of the best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. We were recognized for excellent adoption benefits, including financial reimbursement and paid leave. (September 2012)

Hospira was a recipient of the 2012 Silver Cradle Award, presented annually by the Cradle Foundation to Chicago-area companies that provide adoption benefits and resources to their employees. (September 2012)

Hospira’s Pam Puryear, VP, Organization Development, was selected by Human Resource Executive (HRE) magazine, as one of its "Human Resources Rising Stars" of 2012, a coveted award for human resource executives. (July 2012)

Human Rights Campaign named Hospira to its Corporate Equality Index, for the seventh consecutive time, as one of the Best Places to Work in 2012. (July 2012)

Hospira received the Corporate Member of the Year award for 2011/2012 from APICS-Chicago, in recognition of our commitment, dedication and outstanding contributions toward advancing knowledge and professionalism throughout the Chicago area operations management community. (June 2012)

The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation selected Hospira and Lancaster General Hospital as 2012 co-recipients of the Health Care Clinical Application Award. Given annually to an individual or group that has applied innovative clinical engineering practices or principles to help solve significant clinical patient care problems or challenges, this award honored Hospira and Lancaster for implementing an automated smart infusion system at the patient bedside (IV Clinical Integration). Hospira Canada received the 2011 Canadian Supplier of the Year award from GHX, a healthcare technology and services company that helps reduce the cost of doing business in healthcare by enabling better supply chain management. GHX honored Hospira for our growth and utilization of GHX during 2011. (June 2012)

Hospira’s Chief Information Officer, Daphne Jones, was selected as one of the "Outstanding Buying/Contracting Executives" of 2012 by the Minority Business Enterprise Input Committee of the Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council, Inc. (MBEIC/ChicagoMSDC), which honors those individuals in corporate America and the public sector who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to expanding corporate purchasing from minority companies. Hospira received the 2011 WebAward by the Web Marketing Association in recognition for the company’s U.S. product website detailing the entire portfolio of products offered. (September 2011)

Hospira was recognized by the U.S. Department of Commerce Minority Business Development Agency, for our outstanding accomplishments in management team diversity, diverse vendor relationships and community relations. (August 2011)

Hospira was honored along with WellSpan Health and Cerner Corporation with the Collaboration Award as part of the 2011 Way-Paver Awards at the Sixth Annual unSummit Conference for Bedside Bar Coding. This award is the first-ever Way-Paver Award to recognize collaborative efforts and results between a healthcare IT company, a hospital and a device manufacturer. (April 2011)

Hospira’s LifeCare PCA™ was ranked as top device in their classes in the KLAS report Smart Pumps 2012: Wireless Technology and EMR Integration Report. Hospira was also recognized as an "early leader" in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) integration by KLAS. These awards are based on data from customer surveys of hospital and clinic executives, administrators, physicians, nurses, clinicians and other directors and managers interacting with healthcare equipment and infrastructure solutions. Hospira and DSS received the Industry Innovation Award from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for Hospira's TheraDoc™ clinical surveillance system. (May 2011)

Hospira’s McPherson, Kan., facility received a 2012 Business Appreciation Month Award of Merit from the Governor of Kansas, in recognition of Hospira’s outstanding contributions to the local community, the state economy and the people of Kansas. (August 2012)

Hospira’s Mulgrave, Australia, facility was inducted into the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame. The state of Victoria is Australia’s manufacturing heartland and this award recognizes outstanding contributions to industry and manufacturing excellence. (May 2012)

Hospira’s Lake Forest Research & Development facility received certification as a STAR site under Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Voluntary Protection program. (September 2011)

Hospira Korea was honored with a prestigious award from the Korea Food & Drug Administration for their contribution to the local generic pharmaceutical industry. (April 2011)

Hospira’s regional headquarters in Mexico City was recognized by Hombre Naturaleza for their continued contributions to improving the environment and social responsibility. (March 2011)

The Dirección General de Aduanas del Ministerio de Hacienda presented Hospira’s manufacturing facility in Costa Rica with the Profac Certification (Operador Económico Autorizado), recognizing how the plant facilitated and simplified customs procedures and operations for exports. (March 2011)
